So I fell in love with the Mazda 3 with skyactiv, its a nice fun car to drive... also very kind on the gas bill.
But the thing is... I deploy ( 2nd deployment ) to stan real soon, and I can either buy this car ( with a loan ) or wait for the 2014 model and buy it one shot one kill. ( deployment pay is pretty nice, ;P )

Hah, decided to go for a newer model. Might as well since I have the cash. ( I like to pay things in full... im literally allergic to debt so Im leaning more towards paying it full after deployment. )

Why would you buy a rapidly depreciating asset before leaving?

wait til 2014 and buy a 2013 when dealerships are trying to clear "last years" inventory.

It's really not as bad as everyone makes it out to be.

I see used cars priced above Msrp. Though these prices can obviously be talked down, getting a certain car, in a certain price bracket, is more practical than buying a used one.

I would rather spend a couple grand more to obtain a car with no miles and one that I know hasn't been abused.

Considering your looking at Mazda 3's, I wouldn't exactly worry about buying a used one that's been "abused". Those cars are pretty much only meant for one thing, decent gas mileage.

Buying used would make the most sense, especially if your buying before deployment. Buying a new car then leaving on deployment is just dumb, unless you never plan on selling the car(which I'd be willing to bet you do after awhile of owning one).

If you really want new, then like mentioned above, wait until after deployment and then wait for a good deal when the dealerships are pushing out the old models to make room for the new

His post insinuates that he would purchase the new car when he comes back. However, it is still ambiguous.

I have personally witnessed riced Mazda 3s. People will beat on any car, don't be ignorant.

Also, people can unintentionally abuse a car with poor driving skills.

I would test drive more cars if you fell in love with a mazda3...

Wait till you get back from deployment imo, no reason to buy a fun toy just to let it sit and rot while you're away.

Thank you for serving!
