Hey guys I just wanted to know what tire/mag size my 2006 Jetta 2.5L can support?

I checked online and it says either 205/55/16 or 225/45/17, right now I have the 205/55/16s on it but I'm thinking of getting new tires/rims to make it look better.
does anyone know if theres a 18inch tire size that it can have??

says the 17s are the biggest factory size put on it. that would prob be the biggest you want to go with so you dont mess up speedo and stuff.

im seeing an optional 225/40/18 but i dont know if that would mess with the speedo

is there a way I can know? I'm thinking of getting the new tires&mags in a few weeks (maybe 3-4)

tire rack is showing that 18 as an option and even has a 19 listed. i dont have any experience buying things from there but i dont think they would list incompatible parts. google around some about that tire size or wait around for some other peoples input about it but i think you can go with that 18 safely.

alright thanks man, I'll keep looking around and ask if 225/40/18 is good.

tire rack checks their shit pretty thoroughly. They actually called me on the last order because I run 235/50/18 on my stang and that's not even nearly within spec.
