Hey jsp, I'm about to buy my first car and I'm not 100% sure what I'd like to get, can anyone give me some ideas?

I want to buy the car and use it myself for 1-2 years and then give it to my parents, moderate use

doesn't have to look great, just not on that poverty time.

2500-6000$ budget, 6000 inc repairs and such

This is what I had in mind

Nn to have anymore than a few hundred set aside for a few personal touchs you may want
You typically get what you paid for. Buy safetied ! ( from a legit shop, not some shop off the highway in middle of no where )

Cobalts are iight too

6gs is alot for a starter car imo. Best bang for your buck in my opinion will be around 3-5g at most. Safetied ofc. Ull get a solid 03-07 in that range with low kms, etc

really just depends on what you have locally. those are good choices but just see what all is in your price range and research them a bit.

should be able to get an 03-05 range econobox under 100k miles for your budget.

also don't pay their asking price.

compare it with similar models for sale and then undercut that by 10% and you have a price to aim for.

yup, google is your friend also.

I use google now after my 03 sentra 1.8 .... After my headgasket i went, i decided to google it and see if anything came up. everyone and their dog had their head gasket on the 02-05 sentras go.

major problems like that, a good idea to stay away... thats a $1000-1500 fix
