this happened when i was coming out of the lime mine. the s pipe coming out the back of the turbo has a curled flange and the bottom half of it broke off. im pretty certain this was what was causing the whooshing air sound when i was building boost and let off the fuel. once the engine got to about 1.7k rpms that thing would scream so loud you couldnt hear shit in the truck and when i shifted the whooshing sound was at least twice as loud. they got the new s pipe at the shop and going to put it on monday morning.

Nothing a few well placed zip ties can't fix.

lol yeah. after this happened but before i knew what the cause was i started noticing i didnt see any smoke coming from the stack. i had already called the mechanic and told them i thought the turbo was falling apart but oil pressure was still good so i said screw it and drove on. im in one of our old piece of shit trucks now. its a 2005 model and it road walks bad. im going to hate tomorrow morning driving that piece of junk to ohio and back

Its strange for a v band to fail. We just had a columbia break a driveshaft trying to leave with the trailer brakes on.
