So I started working at a car rental place and I have no idea how to shift...I havent taken the Altima out on a delivery yet so no open road to test it but it doesn't shift up?

For example the shifter is in the D-M mode and I can put it towards +(upshift) -(downshift) but it doesnt go to neutral or 2nd...I probably need to put it on a road to test it out huh guys?

I am not a noob to paddle shift -_- I've driven a Mazda3 and it's a pretty fun car to mess round with...I was just hoping I could have some fun while on a delivery/pickup run you know...but whatever I'll prolly figure it out within a few days

You just put the shifter into the right mode and from there there is a +(plus) and -(minus) usually and you go from there...it's just like driving a manual but you don't hit the clutch...you only really mess with the revolutions.

I had a mazda 3 and the tiptronic on vehicles like that and other similarly priced vehicles, is just garbage. Takes forever to shift once you actually decide to shift and its not smooth at all. Was not satisfying at all compared to driving an actual manual transmission. I think I used it like once or twice the entire time I owned the mazda. Did not like lol.

however if you ever get the chance, I would highly recommend trying out real paddle shifters, aka ferrari or lambo. <3 dem rarri cali paddle shifters

Lol are you sure the tranny wasn't bad?

I don't really ever use the paddle shifter, but it always shifted smooth.

same function just different setup. I prefer the paddle shifters because your already gripping the steering wheel.

and this was right after I got the car brand new, and no tranny problems yet and my sister still DD's it. Could of been just me but I'm pretty sure its more efficient/better shifting having it in automatic all the time lol.
