There is a problem with my power steering.
When i turn the wheel all the way it makes a loud whining sound. The wheel is easy to turn when the car is just started but over time it gets really hard to turn while the car is not moving.

I topped up the fluid but didn't change the old stuff. Nothing changed.

a friend said that it was the power steering pump but there is no leak or anything in it. I am going to drain the fluid and fill it with new stuff and hopefully that works.

Does anybody think the problem is the pump or something else?

shut off your car... wait 2 min then fire it up with your foot on the gas pedal pressed down as hard as u can let it run like that for 10 min that "whining" noise will go away.

Change your fluid. If no work change pump, might want to change belt too.

this is probably the best answer, do some troubleshooting before you actually start purchasing parts

those indications are either a clogged hose or your power steering pump.. or rack and pinion(usually not the case though)

I'm going to guess power steering pump. Mine was making noises for a while, then went out while I was driving just a few weeks ago. Luckily not too expensive of a part for most vehicles, just takes a few hours to replace it.

gotta keep power kneeing your car to the face while he's grounded. if the car makes a whining noise its because hes a bitch. I have the car winning by decision on this fight.
