What is the best way to talk a dealer down?

I can bring my girlfriend to flirt with the guy, or I heard something about adding dealer B and C in there, and pretty much form a sale triangle that will never exist.

Be prepared to walk , show them if theyre not willing to bend to accomidate you ( assuming its nothig rediculous ) tell em your gonna walk and or reinforce the fact that your buyin a car the question is is that salesmen gonna sell it to you or is someone else ... Worked when i bought my mustang got about 2500 $ cheaper with additional upgrades that the other dealers didnt have .. Its a buyers market sir

Depends on new or used. New cars you can always research what the dealer invoice price is and everything online and try to get as close to that as possible.
Used cars are different. They have a number they paid for the trade in (or if they bought it at auction) and you won't know that number so you are working blind on their bottom dollar.

I just bought one and I found the whole "I'll walk out of here right now" thing and getting all angry isn't what it used to be. Just negotiate reasonably. Sometimes the dealer won't be willing to come all the way down on the price, but they might throw in "extras". The internet makes it soo easy to avoid all this drama. You can look at every dealer anywhere near you, check their stock, read reviews, compare prices, etc before you even go see the car. I spent close to a month researching and searching for the car I wanted, sorted through hundreds and hundreds of listings, called and emailed numerous dealers and in the end I only went and saw and test drove one. I had the price negotiated to where I wanted to be over the phone with them before I even got there (it was a 100 mile drive) and knew before I left that if the car was as they described, I would be taking it. The test drive went fine except the car needed some new front tires, so I told them I want some more money off, but instead they ended up replacing the front tires for me instead.

Let them know you're there to buy a car "today". Don't make the salesman think he's wasting his time. Do A LOT of research before you go. KNOW the price you want to pay and/or the price you want for your trade in. Tell the salesman your price, and tell him that's what will sell his car. DON'T MOVE FROM YOUR PRICE. Give them your number, and WALK OUT if you don't get what you want. They will call you back.

Whenever I am talking to a guy about buying a car for the first time.

I just whip my dick out and put it on the table. Then calmly say.

"Lets talk business"

Works every time. Don't know exactly what it does, but it works. I suggest it.

Thanks for this guys. Now are these cash purchases or is it a little different with financing? I can have around 25-30% to put down.

I would highly suggest getting financing BEFORE going to the dealer to negotiate on a car. The dealer will only try to take advantage of you even more.

Find out what you qualify for so you can tell the dealer what you are willing to pay and skip all the financing BS

The salesman will try to get your mind off the actual selling price, and focus on the monthly payment. Don't let them blow off the price like it isn't a big deal. Negotiate the total price of the vehicle. Don't get into the monthly payment negotiation. That will fall into place once you have a set, total price of the vehicle. Depending on your credit, they have you by the balls when it comes to a down payment.
