So, my 08 C6 that I bought in february had a ton of stone chips in the hood. I ordered the Dr Color Chip RoadRash kit for 59.95 and the color prep cleaner for 6.95 + s/h. I spent about an hour with it this morning and would have to say it works pretty decently, I would give it about a 7/10. It fills in the chips with paint but if you get close up you can still tell the chips are there, they are just black now and not ugly white. In the pictures it looks like they are completlely gone and its the most magical product in the history of the world, but its not that amazing. It was extremely easy to do. Its pretty much, use the cleaner, chill for a few minutes, then dab/smear, chill for a few minutes, put some of their sealant/solution on and rub the excess paint off. A couple tips are to make sure to smear and blend the paint FLAT, paint gobs could end up really messy. I was very liberal with the paint, but that required using more cleaner. I ended up going in circular motion like I was waxing when using the cleaner. Make sure you look at it from all angles to be sure you got all the excess paint off. I'm going to see how it looks in the sun and probably do the front spoiler too..

Its kind of like this: before, the hood looks flawless 10 feet away, but closer than that you could see the chips, now its like the hood looks flawless 3 feet away, but closer than that you can still see the chip areas

3 pics before, 3 similar angle pics after (I did apply a coat of meguiars ultimate wax before the after pics), and one whole hood shot

yeah, I read some actual customer reviews on it before trying it just to make sure it wouldnt mess up the paint/clear. It actually looked better today out in the sun. Seemed like they blended in pretty well. Was definitely worth the moneys. There was one big ass chip pissed me off every time I walked by it, now I have to be right up on it to see it.

I might have to try this on my dads Tundra. It's only a year old and looks worse than yours did originally. The dump trucks on the highway here are always dropping little rocks.

Is this the sort of thing where multiple applications will yield a better result, or is it a one and done kind of thing?

I think multiple applications would lead to better results. Its kind of like you smear the paint into the chip and level it out, and then use the solution to take off the excess paint. I noticed that If its not dry enough you will pull some of the paint out of the chip, or if its too dry you will have to rub harder with the solution and still pull some of the paint out of the chip. I was starting to get the hang of it as I went and went over some of my original attempts a second time and they filled in a little more

What if you used a glass squeegee? Seems like since it is a flat surface with a divot, using one would make it much simpler/easier.

Very nice results.

With Subaru's and their notoriously thin paint I will probably be using this or something similar in the future.
