what do you guys think?

Pretty sure the perfomance of both cars are the same.

for the look, i think the fr-s looks better but i want to know what you guys think?

The Subaru BRZ costs 3000$ more than the FR-S.

Thanks

I've heard that Scion actually offers better aftermarket than the Subaru version. Something to think about.

I chose the BRZ, the insurance rates are cheaper than the FRS.

I wanted the leather seats, nav, keyless entry, LED headlights, and push to start, which the FRS don't offer.

Scion offers TRD parts, but in my exp the TRD is just expensive toyota branded horseshit. (They offer STi parts for the BRZ too but you have to have them direct shipped from japan.)
If you want aftermarket parts, buy them from company's that don't manufacture the car itself.

They are the exact same car though, meaning i can buy headers, a full turbo kit, brakes, intercooler, and install them into an FRS or BRZ, because same car B)

The insurance rates being cheaper on the BRZ, although they are the same car, is due to the volume sold.
There are well over twice as many FRS's on the road then BRZ's (due to an 9 to 1 contract agreement between toyota and subaru... 1brz can be produced per 9frs's produced.)
So more cars = more accidents = higher rates on FRS.

whatever you end up with, you will love it

Some of the options listed above are for the limited version of the brZ, not the premium. The premium brZ is worth the slightly extra price than the frs. It offers touch navigation, Arguablly better seats, automatic headlights, and more I believe. So the limited version will cost you $3000ish more, not the premium.

Visit ft86club.com to get all your information especially the differences between the scion vs the brZ premium vs the brZ limited.

The exterior look on differs by the front bumper and the side vents and badges.

Note that if you are buying this summer, you will be getting a 2013. The 2014 models are scheduled to arrive in September/October.

Holding off on a BRZ until they come out with higher-spec factory versions, which is inevitable.

Had no idea between a 9 to 1 contract... that's absolutely horseshit lol. Is the contract going to expire anytime soon or no?

i have never heard of this 9:1 deal, is this published anywhere? i just assumed that toyota/scion just over produces FR-S's because thats what that brand tends to do.
its fine, it just means in a couple years the used market will be overloaded with FR-S's.

Toyota GB Press Relations manager Nik Pearson, who looked into the subject, told CarScoop the following:
“This is something I have heard, yes. But to clarify, I have heard that for every 90 GT 86 produced (not sold) there will be 10 BR-Zs. So Toyota has 90 percent of the production”.
