thinking about buying a 1986 Mercury Cougar XR7 turbo with the 2.3L in it and building the engine from what ive seen performance parts are super cheap for them and could prob reach my power goal of 300ish hp for rather cheap

just wonder if any1 has any real knowledge of them and their reliability

why not just get one with a 5.0?

because i can get that one for 700$ from a friend engine and tranny is still good

hmm well for that price its hard to go wrong if its taken care of. i'm not familiar enough with that engine though to know if would be a reliable platform with twice the factory power.

A 2.3T mercury should be the same as the SVO mustang isn't it!!? Go for it, more power less weiglht=WIN..
