Kind of random but I was just thinking about how my views on cars have changed over the years. I miss the times when a 500$ fox body made me so happy, and now a 30k Corvette seems mediocre. Back when a 20 second 0-60 beater was a blast to drive as long as it was 5 speed. And now I can't have fun with anything under 500 horse. Seems more and more like cars and speed are an addiction. The faster you go the faster you want to go. And it worries me that once you get to a certain level, will anything satisfy your need for speed (hehe)?

Idk just some random thoughts. Anybody else feel the same way?

I see your point. I have just less then 3 years expiriance behind the wheel so it hasent changed as much as it has for you. I personally dont go for speed, its for fast cars.
Everyone likes something else, you like going fast and u try to achieve that. I on the other hand love drifting.

I remember having fun on snow with a RWD. Now its boring and dosent even come close to drifting on a dry road.
Although I remember those good ol' days, when looking at the speedometer inside the car and his amounts of exhaust pipes was the key to judge if its fast or not :) c'mon, I cant be the only one who has done that !

As with anything, time changes your tastes. As we age, our toys get more expensive, our hobbies get more dangerous, and our need for freedom from the daily grind gets dangerously high.

I still am still the same way.

I get giddy over the dumbest vehicles.

I just like machines, regardless of make.

i got spoiled in drag cars when i was younger lol. been chasing that feeling of my grandpa putting a 100$ bill on the dash and telling me if i could grab it i could have it when he floored it. i was never able to grab it lol. now that i finally have a car i can race and not get laughed at for . i feel just like i did when i was young lol. thinking about what it could be and making spreed sheets of parts its a good time for me. but from what i thought was fast at 8-28 didnt really change since i started off going 11;s in the 1/4 mile lol. if anything ive gotten slower not faster rofl lol

yeah i thought i would of been happy with a 370 whp daily driver stock, but yet here I am looking at superchargers. 370 to the wheels when i was younger would shit on most of the cars on the road

True you started fast, but you still want to be faster lol. From the sound of it you will probably always try to be faster.

Epic I felt the same way. I had my z06 at around 385 rwhp. Thought man this thing is bad ass. After 6 months dding it I was looking into blowers, twin Turbo, cam, exhaust, you name it. I'm sure if I had gone that far I would have wanted more. Never satisfied.

I think I should get a 50 HP tank, and cut myself off before this hobby gets out of hand :P

Yep. Most of the time. I have been burned by a few, which makes me wary of them, but mostly I just like seeing how things work.
