Anyone know if there are any laws on the amount of luggage that can be carried on a bike? I have a large duffle, 2 small duffles, and a computer tower. When i first moved to florida I was able to secure it all and rode down with no issues, but i've always been curious as to if there are any actual laws about it. Nothing gets packed unsafe, everything gets secured with ratchet straps.

Anyone got any knowledge on this this?

this is pretty obscure so even if there are laws against it i doubt a police officer is going to know or enforce them.

i mean as long as it doesn't look absurdly unsafe it should be fine.

good question, id like to know aswell. sometimes i tend to pack alot of shit on my bike. got pulled over once i had 2 shotguns strapped on and the cop was telling me it was illegal. i went to court stating that both firearms were cased properly and it was dismissed in a heartbeat

I think most states have unsecured load laws, not sure on Florida, but in Michigan if its not impeding your view and its strapped on, you can put as much shit on there as you can secure. I took my Harley Low rider, that was stripped down, no luggage or bags and strapped all my stuff for a weekend camping trip to the back seat and sissy bar. Never had any problems, and I drove probably 300 miles round trip and passed many cops on the way. The worst part is the shit never loads back up the way you put it on when you left!
