The ATF engine flush has been used for decades. It is the same idea as SeaFoam.

Only real issue with these is that on not so well maintained high mileage vehicles you are loosening up tons of caked on debris which can get lodged in oil passages and cause blockage.

if you get big enough chunks and they hit a kind of small hole they can still get lodged in. about like how he had to stick the screwdriver in to dislodge the chunk from the drain plug. im kind of curious now i wouldnt mind trying this on my car but im afraid of blowing the motor up lol. i have 170k miles on it now and it only holds 3 quarts of oil so i wonder how much atf i would use. maybe 1/2 quart?

Ya I would say a 1/2 quart. Some people recommend to keep the tranny fluid in for a whole week+ of normal driving but I would only go a day or 2 to be on the safe side. Keep an eye on your oil pressure and for any obvious ticks or noise from oil starvation.
