So I haven't had the time or extra cash to do a 5.3 or 6.0 swap so in the meantime I am going to get my truck CA smog legal so I don't have to worry about illegal smogs or getting pulled over and/or running into a mobile sniffer.... BIG Fines!
Anyways my truck sounds like shit because one of my exhaust manifolds is cracked badly and was redneck repaired prior to me buying it. Also I don't have a cat right now (from OK) and its just 2 cherry bombs for mufflers
I bought some wanna be CARB legal shorty stainless steel headers for $150 shipped. Then went ahead and bought a CARB legal high flow magnaflow cat $150++ shipped
Finally I just went with a 16in long Dynomax race bullet for $50 shipped because it was cheap and it should quiet it down with the cat on there just enough not to be loud or drone out.
Plans are custom 2in Y-pipe into a 3in collector. Run single 3in pipe into the cat and then 3in to the race bullet and dump the 3in pipe a couple feet after the cab prolly near the rear axle.
I also plan on pulling my TB and cleaning it because it really needs it. Gonna clean & redo my K&N filter also.
I might get hassled for the headers because they aren't CARB legal so I am going to go to a buddy of mines shop that does smog's who doesn't give a shit about visual as long as it passes the smog part. FYI there are like 2 brands that sell CARB legal headers for my truck and they are both $650+
