I have read that window tinting on windows is ok aslong as it does not exceed 30% in Tn. You are required to have proof that it isn't below 30% (a sticker from the tinting shop, and the receipt for the job) if you get pulled over.
However my step-father was an officer for 12 years, and he said it doesn't matter if it is legal or not, if an officer says it is too dark you have to pull it out, otherwise you will get fined for the tinting, AND refusing to comply with an officer. Does anyone have any experience with this? It seems to me that it SHOULDN"T be an issue if all things technically are legal. I got top of the line ceramic and titanium infused huper optic tinting, and it is rather reflective, making it look EVEN darker than it is from the outside.

Thats the same type of tint IIRC
Also, the guy who is installing it said he can do the ENTIRE windshield legally, and itll help alot with heat and glare at night (reducing it by 60/63 % respectively). From what I have read, other than being commercial, government, or having a medical clearence, you are not allowed to have the windshield tinted.
So I haven't got the windshield tinted yet. He is the only person in the southeast who is able to work with the huper optic 3rd gen tinting, so idt he is wanting to run the risk of getting his license or certification revoked, but for him to say the entire thing could be done legally, idk.
I think I COULD get a medical clearance for it, as a am very light sensitive (my left eye will not constrict so it is allways fully dialated). I have to have my left glasses lens completely black out at all times. I tried driving once at night (before I blacked it out) and almost wrecked from the glare from other cars. I understand that it's dangerous to drive at night with tinted windows, but it's alot more dangerous for me to do so currently with the glare. Even with the lens itself blacked out, the light coming in from the other cars headlights goes around my lens and still makes it harder to see. I have very bright headlights (even without highbeams) compared to most people. It's brighter on normal beams than most of the vehicles in my family on high, so even with tinting, i'd be able to see XD )
So does anyone have any thoughts/ experience on this? I want my front tinted so bad (not for the cool factor, but to keep it cool (temp wise) and to reduce glare at night), but idw to spend 600$ ( 300 for rear and sides, plus another 300 for the full front) just to get a ticket and have to scrape it off a week later.
