My car I want to put them in has decent sound, it's an Eddie Bauer 98 Explorer

It will probably turn out alright without having amazing speakers built in already?

I have no clue how this works... getting someone to install them for me

Do I need any other speakers?

dude.... If you think the explorer has amazing speakers....
Look, get you some regular ass pioneer speakers from walmart. They will blow those stock speakers away. Ford didn't put good speakers in vehicles til 2005, imo.
Run some bigger gauge wire, maybe a crossover for the back speakers, and it will blow your mind. Also, getting a head unit that pushes around 50+ watts per channel helps a bunch. Pioneer has one of those at walmart as well. Its all refurb from Mexico, but still quality product.

He was asking if they would work WITHOUT amazing speakers and yes, they will (for now).
A sub and amp will have little to no effect on the speakers aside from maybe overpowering them (bass vs treble wise).

You dont need better speakers but its pretty advisable.
I would get a quality head unit before speakers. Sometimes even just a good head unit makes it sound a lot better.
