Just got a Seat Toledo 1.6 16v 2001 for my wife.
Just a cheap car to go from A to B
But when i start the car i hear a strange noise, and sometimes it won't start on the first try.
The noise is pretty loud, it sounds like something is wrong with the start engine.

The sound is almost like the sound in this video

anyone have a clue?

Starter's not engaging all the way to the fly wheel? That'd be my first guess. If so, new starter. Those things aren't made to be shimmed, so it shouldn't be.

thats what i was thinking sounds like the starter is still trying to spin after it starts. not sure if thats the noise hes talking about but thats what i heard too

when it doesnt start on the first try does it make a loud whirring noise and the engine itself doesnt turn over at all? if so that would be a starter not engaging all the way.

Its a Seat Cordoba

Thought it was a toledo, but toledo exist aswell
