Looking for a car that I can purchase for under 3,000$ (Example : 90 supra) that I can make modifications to relatively easily and cheap.

I don't have any specific goals, as I'm not educated/well versed with cars.
I'd just like a project and a final product I can be proud of and enjoy driving.

If it matters I live in New York, but the car does not have to be for both summer + winter (I have a car I can drive in the winter).

Thanks for your help, tips, and advice,
Austin

Also, I'll have a bit more forum gold coming in soon. Any high quality posts and thoughtful advice/etc will receive a donation as a thank you.

fun project car in the 3k range eh... i would look into MR2 's
they are not terribly expensive, and give a unique driving experience.

Supras are still pretty expensive due to their popularity. I like the mr2 idea, or you could lean toward an FC Rx-7, or a miata. Any Honda as well, they have a huge inventory of aftermarket parts for cheap.

Are these also relatively easy to mod for someone who is less experienced (close to zero) at working on cars?

Thanks for the help so far :)

i'd say pick up a civic or something.

i just bought one for a DD, and if it wasn't rusty, i'd have tons of mods on it already.

For the price of a civic, wouldn't a supra be a nicer/easier choice?
