Hey guys I jjust want to replace my ujoints, they're shot. It's for a 2002 4x4 silverado. I'm having a problem with actually removing the driveshaft from yoke side. I slid off the retainer clip, and the boot for it moves forwards and backwards. Do I need to remove the O ring around that's hidden behind the boot? Does the boot come off with it? I also did remove the 4 bolts from the otheer side. Just won't slide out.

i believe you are going to have to use a torch to heat the u-joint and melt the injected plastic shit out of it. my 2000 4x4 s10 was like that. it should have a small hole and once hot enough it comes squiggling out
shit just a sec i thought you were asking about the u-joint itself. see if this helps

I'd try a gentle, yet firm tap with a hammer.

Or a 9 pound slam if you're a redneck.
