My car recently got into an accident, it was $17,000 in repairs paid by insurance, all new parts straight from volkswagen. How much does this hurt my value of the car for a trade-in.

For people wondering my car is a 2008 Volkswagen Passat, Sedan VR6 4Motion FWD, 19,000 miles

I don't know. It kind of pissed me off. They said that they valued the car at $22,000 (Bullshit), but the place that did the repairs also said that he thinks it's worth more.....

And theres no such thing as a 4motion car thats fwd lol, 4motion means it has the awd system.

should of asked for agent to account for depreciation... it's typically an amount they give you for the depreciation in value of your car after an accident....

How do I go about trading this car in?

Go to the dealer and see how much they'll give you.

I'm guessing what they offer is really non-negotiable

usually its so low even if you negotiate it wont do much better
