I may be purchasing an 01 escape. Any known issues? I'm in the process of googlin some bullshit but i figured I'd ask here in the meantime.

Yeah, i've been reading these. Most of the complaints seem to be about the transmission. Are the transmissions the same for the v6 as the i4?

i noticed every review had the exact same vehicle listed so im guessing that for some reason they couldnt specify a particular model of the escape. but thats just speculation. im sure someone will jump in here soon that can tell you whats junk on them though.

i have a 3.0 v6 duratec in my mazda 6 2005. the only engine related issue i got was a cracked air filter box hose, so i installed a cold air intake. The engine does burn oil but nothing serious, one of my coworkers has an escape and told me he never had any serious issue but hes a maintenance nazi.
