so i e-mail DJM to make sure i chose the right front shock

Hi

I have recently purchased some of your items at summitracing.com.
Even tough my vehicle isn't listed in yours or anybody's application list (1978 Chevy van g10) it is known that my van has the same front end suspension components as a
1973-1987 c10 pick up truck. So i have successfully installed DJM 2'' lowering coils with DJM 3'' lowering spindles a couple weeks ago and noticed my front shocks where completely busted.
Not much of a surprise with 35 y/o suspension components. So i started looking into your aftermarket options and wasn't sure witch shock would fit my application best.
I was guessing a pair of your 1309 calmax supershox but when looking at the application list on summit it says 5'' lowered applications.
My front end's total drop is 5'' if i add the coils to the spindles but only the lowering coils physically influence the length of the front shock so that would be 2'' drop.
So if you could guide me into buying the right front shock for my lowered suspension i would be happy to add 1 more DJM component to my front end.

Thank you.

and i got this as a reply:
I think you are correct

no greetings or detail, wat kind of answer is this ? i think you are correct. WTF dont they know their own products? 3'' difference is not small when talking suspensions i need a clear answer lol
e-mailed back how stupid can they be now im sad i have such items on my van

You think I'm correct in guessing the 1309 shocks?
I was expecting a more precise response honestly. I would appreciate if you could look a little more into it, tomorow im going to work on the truck I could measure the statick ride height
if that helps you guide me to the right shock, that is what i did for the rear after flipping my axle to get the right air struts.

If you have C10 spindle and spring and it fit with no mods I am sure the 1309 will be good

is the respond i just got

wat i posted was the actual response i sent djm then quoted myself and posted the response i got.
i was expecting a response along the lines of :
HI joey,
our 1309 shock absorbers are for c10 pickups with either our 2'' or 3'' lowering coils and will fit the same with or without drop spindles.
Considering the c10 spindle and coils fitted your van whit no modification i would say it is safe to think the struts are right for your applications.

anyways, il measure my ride height before ordering anything and make sure i get shocks that will have collapsed/expanded measurements that get that ride height right in the middle

i have 2'' drop coils so i dont want stock height shocks if im replacing them, just like i posted before the edit i will measure and aim for something that's about in the middle for ride height

it just kinda sucks, if i was selling vehicle components and engineered a strut i would know wat its for, i mean did you make it for a 2'' drop, 5'' drop or stock height, im no professional but 5'' is a big difference as far as suspension goes. I would expect any brand to know their product
