So my situation is pretty weird.. You see, I joined the military at the age of 18.. like 2 weeks after high school. I've been in the army for almost 2 years now, doing a tour in korea for a year ( So buying a car was out of the question )
Now where I am going to after Korea, I will be needing a car. The thing is..
I barely have any credit history...
I do have a good amount of liquidable funds.. IE, a decent sized checkings and savings.. even a TSP 401K <- ( which isn't liquidable I know. )

I can afford this 05 honda accord[ about 62K miles. yeah.. i know.] one shot one kill.. pay it off full in cash. I have my eye on ( friends friends car..)

but the problem here good gentlemen.. is that what is the average cost of insurance for a new driver. Yep.. I don't even own a license. Funny thing is, I do have a military license.. I'm technically qualified to drive a m2 bradley fighting vehicle, humvees, and other multiple mil vehicles. Which I have all driven.. LOL.

I can afford 400$ a month on insurance.. but I don't feel like getting raped in the ass.. 200$ per month is bearable.. but is it doable?

if you have enough money to pay cash i would say put that amount aside and do monthly payments on the vehicle anyways so that way you can work your credit score
