Hi friends, currently looking at purchasing a radar detector

I was wondering if anyone has some experince and could recommend one?

There are tons out there ranging from 40$ all the way up to 400$

I don't want to spend 400$ on one if the 40$ one will do the trick

IDK about crazy Canada, but here in the US it varys from state to state wether the police are using laser or radar.
That is also the largest variable of cost on most of them.

I had one of those fucktarded expensive ones, i got 3 tickets in 3 months after putting it up.
Zero tickets since i took it down (about 6 years ago)

They just inspire an illusion of confidance, I speed without one now

I'd pretty much agree with this. People here in Arkansas use 'em and get pulled over FOR them... Nothin like goin 94-35 in a panic just to get a ticket anyway. I've learned from their examples and never used one.

3-4 years ago I had a cheap Cobra one and I got a ticket within 5 weeks of having it up.
It's been 3-4 years since I've taken it down and 0 tickets.

and I still do speed, but I do it smartly.

you dont need one. Dont drive like an idiot to get attention to yourself.

And if you wanna be that cool 18 year old high school kid speeding all over, than be prepared to pay your tickets. Dont bitch and cry when you get one.
