after messing with my starter yesterday i noticed my anitfreeze was low. i picked up some on the way to work, filled it up all was well. after work i noticed my little dash board temp gauge/ heater control temp was blinking. put my hand over the defrost and it was cold again. checked inside the fill tank and i have dark black floating stuff in it. Hoping its not oil. maybe gonna hope for a flush, but what would cause it to get that low again if not a head gasket or a cracked head?. there is no leaks from what ive seen. no giant wet spots anywhere, no puddles when parked ect

Check all the hoses, fill it up and see if it happens again.

Oil not milky? You have an lt1 right? I just had to do my head gaskets.

Black in the overflow probably means you have oil to coolant crossover. Check the oil fill cap for nasty sludge. Don't drive it until you are sure or it could cost you a bottom end.

Reverse cooling ftl.

checked the dip stick again, it looks just like normal oil, no funny smells. checked the refil tank for a crack and found nothing. Doesnt seem to be the heater core. the floors on the inside of the car are not wet
