Just found this forum section and I figured i'd post my question here too.

I'm currently doing a 1.8t AWM engine swap into a GTI mk2
And I'm wondering if there's any way I could use a cable throttle body instead of the electronical one.

Surely there's a way.

i dont know shit about those engines but the solution goes something liek this:
look for older1.8(or any other engine from the same family idk ) that might have a drive by cable throttle that bolts to your application
afthermarket drive by cable throttle body
buy the whole pedal assebly that goes with the drive by wire throttle...

The car running fine atm and im wondering if i remove the throttle assy ecu will fuck up

But someone told me there was a chip I could put on it so theres no delay on the throttle
