ive always liked wrx's (subaru in general) more then the evo / mitsubishi.

mainly because of my experience with redoing the trans / clutch and motor rebuild on my friends wrx and how easy they are to work on and mod.

I've been leaning towards the wrx. The gsr would be within my budget but the wrx would be a few grand over. Thanks for your opinions!

I've also read they havent used forged pistons in the wrx since 2006 and since 2007 they sometimes crack. Also they switched from lead bearings to silver and they sometimes fail.

Yeah. I read it has something to do with the harmonics of the engine that end up cracking them.
