I just bought a 2005 Chrysler Pacifica.

The problem is the radio will not turn off even after the key has been took out and the door has been shut. This results in the battery dying.
And, also I mean I can turn the radio off, but the time on the radio like just the time say it's 6pm. That will just stay on.

So the problem is that main dash thing will not turn off.

Any help would be greatly appreciated as I just replaced the battery, and it was fixed. Now it's doing it again. So I don't think I fixed it than. I just bought it need to rebuild the title anyways.

Additional Help if have time.

I also have a 2006-2008. Not sure what year got a lot of cars trying to sell.
Dodge Cailber.

And, just randomly all the lights do a quick blink and the headlights turn off, or if on they turn off. Just everything lights up.
I think this may be the fuse box, but not sure.

The Pacificas seem to have a ton of electrical problems. Check all of your grounds, pull the fuses for things that stay on and check them out. I'd say it might be the sensor on your door (that tells you when it's open) but it would chime when you start the car.
If none of this works, as stupid as it sounds, you may need a new pcm.

As for the other car, do some of the same. Check all your grounds. Test your charging system as well.

No its not just stock.
It just stays on. I don't know what the problem is.

I can turn it off and everything and the sound, but than the time will just stay there instead.

are you fine with the task of removing it from your dash?

this is simple to fix with a few feet of new wire but you have to remove the radio from the dash to get at the wires.

you'll simply cut the wire thats supposed to be your switched 12v power and rewire it to a fuse/wire that goes on/off with your ignition.

What would the door have to do with the radio?

Some of the newer cars leave the accessories on until you open the door.

Thats how my focus is but the radio will turn off after like 5 or 10 mins of being on with the key out.

@ OP.. Kinda a stupid question but are you sure the clock doesn't stay on normally? I ask because the clock being on shouldn't kill your battery unless you left it sitting for a couple weeks I would think.

Edit- For your 2nd question... That isn't good. Sounds like a short or something and yes it may be in your fuse box. Electrical problems that happen here and there are hard to track down like others have said. Only real way is to follow all the connections manually and insure there are no cuts, etc.

Even after I open the door and shut it, it stays on.
