so this is a sequel to : Found a new Chevy to put my plate on.
http://forums.d2jsp.org/topic.php?t=63766094&f=140

and here is the build thread, today i changed the tranny pan gasket w/filter but ran into minor issues. the speedo cable was loose and leeking, so i just tighten it back up and cleaned it, will keep an eye on that
snapped both tranny mount bolts that go trough the x-member, proceded to take off x-member bolts on frame np , then my tranny mount started falling

34 y/o tranny mount looks like this, no wonder i could feel the shifts

then eventually emptied the pan and took it off, to actually find 2 bolts in the pan
at the moment taking a picture was impossible as oil was all over the place. old gasket laying around clean pan with the 2 mentioned bolts
i found where the bolts use to be, put them back in and checked all the other ones that hold the valve body and they all seem tight

this is me being stupid i actually went back to the store with the gasket and the pan and was like wtf the holes don't align, and the guy was like wtf your right il take out an other and check, same shit . then we realized we had it upside down...

so now i have to find a tranny mount asap, cuz i plan on leaving for my vacation/roadtrip friday morning :S im kinda fucked

came back from my trip to Ontario, went 4 days at the sandbanks provincial park and 1 day at Canada wonderland. the truck drove fine

i change the tranny mount before leaving, old one was pretty much not a tranny mount any more

camping/ women always need the gadgets/ slider door looks like its about to fall off

and these 2 last days i installed a soundtream amp(4x100wrms) with 2 6.5'' speakers in the back(90 wrms) amp is behind/under the bed

couldn't say, here we calculate fuel economy with liters per 100 kilometers
on the first 300 kilos i did, i tanked it for 60 liters so that 20l/100km ( not good), that was mainly highway driving.
i gave it a oil change with filter, an air filter, changed the tranny filter/mount and filled the tires to max pressure witch was only 35 psi. So now i must be getting slightly better fuel economy

Do you still have the Italian Stallion license plate on the front?

That's what makes the van most pimpin'.

Hopefully it was not ran too hard in it's previous life..... was it owned by a stoner?

yup a stoner had it, if look in the pics of the other thread (link in my first post) you can see the interior. The previous owner ended up being a buddy of my dad and uncle and he did take care of it as most vans out here look like shit and this one is a 78, even
chevy express vans here are rusted to shit and those are 96+

i put some work on the van this week end. i added a some shelf's next to the bed. I never really worked with wood before so im pretty happy how this all came out.
the wood is from furniture i had picked up on the side of the road to burn for our Saturday night fires haha, we kept the nice pieces and now im glad we did.

here is a before pic

here is most of the shelving afther 1 day of work

picture from the bed side with a bit more trim on

il make an other post for other pics

with only the lower part to do i wanted to close it with a 45degree angle so i could relocate the speaker in it but after all the hard work to get the piece to fit right, i didn't want to cut a dam hole in it anymore.
and the long trim that runs along the wall is kind of disapointing, i boutgh plastic to make sure i could fit it to the curve of the wall and painted it with the closest thing to copper the store had and it was some bronze metallic paint, so that was better then some plain white trim, only thing is it looks way to bright now and a little pink...

so i relocated the speaker directly into the bed as it was before

and this is wat it all looks like.

to conclude ofc nothing is perfectly straight and wat not but im still happy of the result, i put the woofer under the bed, thats crazy also
