10.01 @ 138 was my pb in the car with no nitrous and when it had the 451 stroker motor. That motor has since been punched out and stroked more to 512 and the vid i posted above in first post was the day/last week when i got it all together and back in the car. Basically, first start.
What its et/trap will be who knows. Low 9s preferably. I left a little bit left in the cylinder walls to allow for forced induction down the road but id like to stay non turbo as long as possible. Max i could bore out the motor is to around 530-540 cubic inches but at the point forced induction isnt really feasible unless running really low boost.
That said, In hopes of getting into the low 9s/ high 8s in the next couple years, i already had the cage re done minus the main hoop and main hoop support and windshield bar. Everything else is to spec of nhra requirements for an 8.50 sticker. The 6 and 3 inch rules are the most difficult when retaining almost all factory interior, floor pan, trunk pan, and nose on the older cars. Its not hard if not caring about factory dimensions and factory parts fitment. But given i want to drive it on the street a lot too, have to make things work for that and reliably.
Waiting to do the hoop/support windshield till last because those two will require the most fucking about to do right given i still have the entire factory dash in the car yet and will have to require cutting up my nice bead-rolled aluminum behind the seats.. Those 3 things are only required for the 8.50 certification, so if i dont break into the 8s, i dont need them. Cross that bridge when i get there.
The recertification for chassis is this coming year / every 3 years for the classes i run because although i didnt break into the 9s, my mph was over the limit. The 9.99 safety rules is of course if you run 9.99 et OR 135mph or faster in the quarter. I went over that by 3mph. But given how close my cage is to an 8.50 spec it wont be an issue unless their chassis sonic test finds an anomaly of some sort in tube thickness. Unlikely though.
