Mitsubishi did a brake job on my car. Afterwards they left all of this brake lube over the shim. It bothered me because it didn't look like how they looked from factory when I bought it new. Really bothered me that it was sloppy all over the place. In the one image you can see a whole bunch extra on the bottom.

Was I right to bring it up? Shop said they will remove the excess lube. Just wondering if it was something I should of complained about.

Thats caliper pin grease. Shouldnt go anywhere on the pads.

You know when you order brakes online and they come with some brake lube? That’s what that is for.

BS. You grease the backs/slide areas so they dont squeak. This is pretty common knowledge.

The only place grease absolutely does not go is the rotor or the face of the pads


@Op: That is a perfect brake job. They took the time to grease the parts that needed it, and with the good purple stuff too.
