Hurry the fuck up and quit making it so damn pretty. I want video clips of it lighting up its tires and bouncing off the rev limiter!

Hah! Winter is upon us. So regardless, the car couldn't hit the road until April at the earliest most likely.

So I have that time window to finalize the last remaining details on the car.

Don't worry, I'm amassing more and more Gopros, there will almost always be a camera on the car, once it's on the road.

The valves basically just seated. The engine has around 2000 miles on the rebuild. Getting the tune dialed in will be the most arduous part. You definitely don't wanna go wide open throttle without knowing if you're detonating or not.

I honestly can't believe the end is actually in sight.

Decided to powder coat my finned cover.

It was painted, by the previous owner, with some nice high quality paint. I almost left it, but the only way to be certain there aren't any hairline cracks in the aluminum is to clean away any coatings.

So I blasted, inspected, and subsequently powder coated the cover its new color - machine gray. The contrast with the black is going to be nice.

Stripped.

Gray.

The tuning won't be that bad. Granted, microsquirt is not the most noob friendly software in the world. Start rich with stock timing and work on getting your VE and base running airflow perfected. That is the foundation of a solid tune and the main part you don't want to rush.

Yeah, I can't wait to finally really sit down and dial things in. With so many micro projects doing on simultaneously, I haven't found the time needed to properly sit down and work it out. Once my dash is done that will allow me the adequate thinking time.

....a little composites progress.

Hand laid the first couple layers (or "skin coat") of 6oz fiberglass onto the mold's surface coat. Ugh, I HATE hand layup.

If you'll recall, a couple months ago I claimed that I would eventually make a classier cover for my distributor.

We'll I finally took the time to make that plug.

Terrible picture for those that don't remember...Here's the current setup.

Blah blah
