If I were to guess, OP was/is in the military or a military depended who lived overseas for a bit and got enveloped in the car culture there. I’ve been in JP for almost 3 years now and it’s very different than the car culture in the states.

That being said, I get it, but most of the guys here are into the American style culture. That isn’t a bad thing, it’s just different than what you’re used to. So tbh, you might be barking up the wrong tree if you’re looking for the honest opinions of this sub forum.

There are plenty of quality builds here, so don’t discount that fact. I personally have too much invested in my build to put tons of track miles on it or do wheel to wheel racing. I find joy in in your average spirited weekend drives and cruises/meets.

The “regulars” here throw around constant banter, so don’t take it so personally.

Sorry, I meant why not use an LS4. It's already transverse mounted. There is an aluminum block 5.3 variant that is transverse mounted as well.
