Thanks Dudes!

And yeah, if it doesn't pass my test. Its not good enough.

The kiss test.

If I'm not confident kissing any part of the vehicle, it is taken apart, and cleaned/painted/reinstalled.

Going to paint the radiator support and surrounding area tonight.

I feel like this thing is going to be a snow balling project.

Going to start out with a basic turbo build, then turn into a RB30 800hp 240 over the next ten years.

Almost seems like that doesn't it? I hope I can see it right to the end though. Love these cars.

Haha! Thanks for the ultra kind words! A friend of mine said something really similar, and said he expects to see the car in a magazine in the next 5 years. I think he's delusional.

Who knows? Maybe I'll catch "the bug" as they say. I will be honest and say the thought of RB30 definitely has popped into my head a BUNCH of times, but I need to build it up slow, so I don't kill myself, or destroy my machine.

I definitely want to do other cars though, and not just Datsuns.

Either way the words mean a lot.

And here's the update:

Painted my radiator grille area. I'll untape tomorrow and touch up as needed. Again, sorry about the lighting and picture quality in general...In person it actually looks quite good. Haha.

Shot via Daguerreotype.

Like a Sir. ^_^

Looks like you're well on your way from a solid concept to a solid execution.

Definitely understand the "Building up to it" Idea... I started out with a complete stock restore on the 67 gt500 I used to have and just took a little step up every time I found myself craving power. Eventually hit well over 700 at the crank after 4 years. Definitely couldn't have controlled it when I started out.

Untaped the car, and began cleaning, and rewrapping my bay harness.

I'll continue to work throughout the evening. More pictures will come.

Okay, tonight I pulled my transmission. I'm going to use the time with it out of the car to prep and repaint the transmission tunnel and part of the undercarriage. Ive already stripped and painted it once before; This is merely a cosmetic touch up.

The transmission that came out of the car is an early 1971 4 speed, it whines like a school girl, so I'm going to swap it out.

I don't have a replacement transmission yet, but I am definitely going to source out a five speed to go back in the car. If I can't find the specific transmission I want (1980 280zx 5 speed) I may opt into a 240sx 5 speed swap. Not sure yet though, as I still am buying turbo/fuel management components.

Once tax returns roll in I'm going to treat myself to a whole new cooling system. I can't wait. Then its just Greddy RZ blow off valve, Innovate LC-1, Oil cooler, and megasquirt. Then the motor stuff is done...

Here are the random pics. Nothing too spectacular.
