not even close
and Paris Island isn't any more or less tough than any other base idk why you are jacking off to it
Not even close to what? Do you think it is really how the recruiter says it is? They told 2 of my friends that it is against the rules for anyone to lay a hand on them during training. Psh.. That didn't keep a DI from soccer kicking a guy in the face when he fucked up his sand crawl. It didn't keep a DI from backhanding one of my friends in his face and breaking his nose. According to the new rules they are supposed to have their masks on in the gas chamber and only have momentary exposure to the gas. Sure... One of my friends went through fine. Another one the DI walked around and popped everyone's mask repeatedly letting in smoke. The third friend was unlucky enough to have his unit leader as his DI for the gas chamber. Once he noticed which group was in the chamber he walked around and pulled all of their masks off for the duration.
They teach you how to swim with your ankles and wrists tied. Well, they try. Do you know how they do that? That tie you up, and push you off a platform 12ft above the water. You have to swim to the other end of the pool (8ft deep) to get out. Only a few people can keep above water. About 1/4 of them sink. They don't pull you up right away. You have to struggle for like 80 feet gasping for air sucking in water. It is the closest thing you can feel to drowning without dying.
It is set up so that anyone can make it through. They can take an average person and teach them the things they need to make it through. They repeat things and beat ideas into their heads. They don't just change your body. They change your mind. They change the way you think. It is no doubt by necessity. You can't get someone to run straight into the front line if they don't know for a fact that they are the shit. You have to make them think that they are the elite. Are marines elite fighters? Some of them, yes.
Parris island does things a little more old school than san diego. One of the big things that makes it harder is the weather. The island has between 70 and 100% humidity year round. In the summer you can't breathe its so hot, in the winter the humidity keeps you wet and you freeze. That alone can make the training 10x harder.
