Maybe the region where I live generally occupy are poor drivers, but left lane passing doesn't work here. During commuter hours, all three lanes are either stop and go, or sub 50 mph.
It's brutal. What's also brutal around here, and incredibly dangerous, are people who try to merge on the highway going under 40 MPH. Maybe it's just where I live, 40 minutes northwest of Boston.
I'm in complete agreement that raising speed limits should be implemented nation wide. I just don't see the police force ever pulling over people for going too slow here.
the minimum is usually low like 40mph and even then to ticket those people is a waste of time cause they can get thrown out by a judge with minimal effort.
that's why states have passed specific laws for this that you can't just be like "there was something in the road so i slowed down" or "i got a ticket for driving at a safer speed for my kids?!"
