Sounds to me like AWD is just plain out better. Question: If AWD cars are so much better, do you mind me asking why people all don't switch over to AWD? Especially models such as corvette whose target market is for the racing enthusiasts.
I mean yea, it's a bit heavier, but I'm sure the extra traction offsets that. So aside from cost, I can't think of any other reason why AWD isn't the "way to go" for ALL performance cars. Who the hell cares about a minor cost increase, if you're already dropping 60k+ on the car
It's not "better" until you exceed the reasonable limits of the rear tires on a rwd car. For production cars that isn't an issue. AWD will always be heavier as well. Nothing rolls through the center of a turn like a balanced rwd car.

Those are different conditions though too. Don't get me wrong. I'm not saying a rwd car will always or ever beat an equal AWD car.
You gotta remember too. Out of the 1500+ cars that go out at night. MAYBE 10 are awd cars over 1600hp. There are hundreds that are rwd 1500hp cars.
the other 1,000+ cars are everything from imports to 1khp street cars. There are a TON of ls cars hovering in the 600-900hp range. You'd have a blast. At the events, since your blown you'd get eaten alive but at night, there would be plenty to do.
There is always someone faster. I've never been the chip on the shoulder only going to race if I can win kind of guy. I'm racing the half mile at wannagofast in may because it will be fun. I've always wanted to go to TX2K but it's quite the trip to plan.
