The current generation GT is VERY impressive.... this is obvious. It's not typical to compare a 420 HP car to a 200 hp car.
Drivers LOVE the BRZ (again refer back to the Mustang vs brz video), I wouldn't call it "not that great" But yes, I can meet you in the middle and say that, for a lot of people, power is most important, making a mustang (for example) a good contender for their purchase.
Its definitely not typical, but how many people are gonna spring for half the power for a 4k savings? I suppose it really depends on what you are looking for in a car though. I imagine the BRZ gets decent economy. I have to try pretty hard to hit 30 mpg in my mustang. My idea of a fun car probably sits somewhere along the lines of 400+ HP miata.
I think the thing that will make the biggest difference as far as how I like the BRZ is going to be the aftermarket support as well as potential growth (performance/power wise). Ive heard that there isnt enough room to fit a turbo which sucks and I have no knowledge of the flat 4s so idk if they respond well to smaller mods like CAIs and exhaust or if the power is stuck around stock. The engin*** (in our older miata at least) is huge and has plenty of room for superchargers, turbos, or V8s.
Im extremely interested in building a V8 miata someday (or 240z but that miata is probably easier). If big power can be made easily in a car like the BRZ than it would be sweet.
