I half expected a poorly worded argument saying why its unfair to compare it to the GT. Oh well...

poorly worded?...That's comical.

I'm NOT here to bash cars like you are.

By poorly worded I more so meant poorly argued. People kept previously saying that it was stupid to compare the BRZ to the GT but its the exact same price difference between the two as the V6 Mustang and BRZ.

Saying a car is unimpressive, or just ok, is hardly bashing a car. I just think people are going a little to crazy for a car that isnt that great.

The current generation GT is VERY impressive.... this is obvious. It's not typical to compare a 420 HP car to a 200 hp car.

Drivers LOVE the BRZ (again refer back to the Mustang vs brz video), I wouldn't call it "not that great" But yes, I can meet you in the middle and say that, for a lot of people, power is most important, making a mustang (for example) a good contender for their purchase.

Its definitely not typical, but how many people are gonna spring for half the power for a 4k savings? I suppose it really depends on what you are looking for in a car though. I imagine the BRZ gets decent economy. I have to try pretty hard to hit 30 mpg in my mustang. My idea of a fun car probably sits somewhere along the lines of 400+ HP miata.

I think the thing that will make the biggest difference as far as how I like the BRZ is going to be the aftermarket support as well as potential growth (performance/power wise). Ive heard that there isnt enough room to fit a turbo which sucks and I have no knowledge of the flat 4s so idk if they respond well to smaller mods like CAIs and exhaust or if the power is stuck around stock. The engin*** (in our older miata at least) is huge and has plenty of room for superchargers, turbos, or V8s.

Im extremely interested in building a V8 miata someday (or 240z but that miata is probably easier). If big power can be made easily in a car like the BRZ than it would be sweet.

The BRZ has already been turbod.

I read on a forum that a user drove hundreds of miles and got a reading of 34.x MPG on manual. The manual is rated lower than the Auto

Who has turbo'd one? Google didnt show anything except subaru saying that there is no turbo version available.

Not as good economy as I expected for a lightweight 4 cylinder but i suppose it depends on how it was being driven.

That's great MPG.....My celica, which weighs less, gets less MPG.

PTUNING is or has one.

Subaru confirmed turbo fa20 engine.

There is space and it's only a matter of time before kits start popping out of every company.

Assuming its highway economy (hundreds of miles?) than that isnt that good. I can get 30 highway with my 3600lb car and a V8.

the only thing I saw from ptuning was that they were planning a turbo but all they have done was a baseline dyno.

You said they look alike......which they should......

Your original statement implied that you didn't know they were supposed to look alike.
