ive had one friend become a marine and hes the same as he went in. hes got a few screws loose after shooting someone, but otherwise hes fine.

Fuck off with that shit. My best friend/mentor/big brother growing up was killed by an IED in Iraq after volunteering for his 3rd tour. I respect what they do but that doesn't mean I have to respect the shitty system that cranks them out.


The only real marines are Paris Island marines FYI. The west coast variety get picked on over here.

marines have it pretty shitty not gonna lie. they come out new human beings. not the person u knew before. im air force myself and i see it quite often.

EDIT: but it takes a certain kind of person to put up with the shit they do when deployed.

It does. People that obviously aren't cut out for it like my current friends shouldn't go in in the first place. The marine corps takes people like that and changes them completely in order to prepare them for combat. None of them have seen combat yet and I dread the day they do. I wouldn't want one of them covering me.


Someone that is cut out for it like I presume LSD's friend is won't change much throughout the process.

pretty sure i can handle it but i scored high on the asvab so i went air force. seemed better. and my dad JUST retired air force 2 yrs ago.

honestly the marine core is about 5x more pussie than it was 30 years ago it used to be way more intense now half the old techniques are illegal

but yea its crazy what they have to go through
