$6000 over 5 years to own a C7Z vs a non widebody C7 Z51?

Beam me up scotty. For that cost difference I wouldn't even blink. Your motivation is completely different than mine though.

Yeah same. What's 6k over 5 years when I make enough to afford a car like that lol...
Hell I dont make nearly enough now to afford it and I waste more money than that on bs every few years.

Hmm, that's decent point. For fun, I went back and re-crunched the numbers. Without tax the MSRP is:
1LZ Z06 (Base): $84,015; sold at MSRP
3LT Z51 (Fully loaded): $79,935; w/ 9-10% off discount = ~$72,000

In the end, the Z06 is still about $10-$15k more than a fully loaded z51. If you don't mind me asking, why do you want all that extra horse power so much? Is it really worth that 15k + cost to own cost?

My C5Z is 850whp. Not everyone is afraid to drive their car lol. The Z06 is a better performing car in every way by a long shot. As a car guy, I want the best performing car I can get my hands on.

And that widebody is sexy.

It's not fast enough for that. Hell, anything RWD isn't fast enough anymore. The 1600-2000whp AWD cars rule the street.

you'd be surprised. the rwd crowd was HUGE last year on the streets and some of the big name underground cars and gtr's weren't just walking away anymore. There's a guy in Houston that was running with us last year in a TT viper and he was ripping shit up. I rode along with a friend that has an UG car that is 2k on a good day and the viper would sit side by side 60-160 every pull.

Was the viper 1500lbs? If not I need video. I've seen Vbox data from the ridiculous AWD cars and nothing RWD has come close. At the half mile races 2000whp rwd cars struggle to break 200 and the AWD cars at the same power are running 220-240. 2 years ago it was still pretty even but we've hit the limit of the tires in rwd and the AWD guys are catching up on power.

Sounds to me like AWD is just plain out better. Question: If AWD cars are so much better, do you mind me asking why people all don't switch over to AWD? Especially models such as corvette whose target market is for the racing enthusiasts.

I mean yea, it's a bit heavier, but I'm sure the extra traction offsets that. So aside from cost, I can't think of any other reason why AWD isn't the "way to go" for ALL performance cars. Who the hell cares about a minor cost increase, if you're already dropping 60k+ on the car
