im defiantly expecting to break the trans but untill then it will be a 6spd

Its all good. Corvettes do a lot better at high power and 6 speeds because of the weight. In an fbody you go ahead and throw an auto in it to make the turbo and suspension happy. Over 800whp an auto is far from boring because its so much faster.

I don't get why you would stay manual with that much power. Well besides a fun factor at least

Hard headedness. With a corvette I get it. Thats bastardizing a sports car. Its usually the people that think autos are boring because they have only been in auto pickup trucks and sub 500hp cars. Its a different ball game after about 600whp. If you never intended on going to the track I get it too. Turbos and autos are a match made in heaven though. I intend on having a turbo/auto car and something with 2 seats and 7 liters for my 6 speed fix ;) . I've already picked out the cam and exhaust for it. Its a sickness I swear.

I looked it up and nicd went auto.

Sounds like a good time to me and did any one else notice this thread is not full of flame.

Side note only reason I'm not going auto off the bat is that shots an expensive thing to do in a vette fom what I hear

Yes I almost commented on the lack of trolls. I didn't want to bring them out of hiding though.

going auto in a vette isn't terrible if you can find someone to swap with that wants a 6 speed. The problem with the C6 is the 4l80e won't fit without a lot of modification. You can fit a Th400 a bit easier. Obviously the 4l60e direct swaps but only 2 places build one worth trying at your power level and they are $5k.

My suggestion if you go auto and want a land speed missile is a Th200. Nothing beats a glide in a high hp turbo setup. With a low first and 3.08 rear gear with 28" tires it would be ok on the highway. Not great, but ok. Look at the blue LMR C6. Its the one taking it to the UGR lambos and GTRs. It has a glide.

If you stay under 1200whp and dont do any track passes on slicks with a serious launch you can make a built TR6060 last for a while. Its a little stronger than a t56 but is less resilient on a missed shift. Guys have missed 1 shift and stripped a synchro.

so dont power shift.

With 1200 no I wouldn't out anything else in it but a glide. That's a lot of fucking power going through a trsns. It would have to be built.like an I beam lol. I don't know of any 4 speeds that could handle that. Like you said there is one but it's expensive as hell . Imo a glide is the only.way to go

The 80e can be built to hold close to 1500whp but its about 5k. In his case he would have to notch his frame to make it fit.

RPM charges 10k to put an 80E in a C6.

Same car on medium boost. 800whp vs the 680 in the other video.

I always reference these videos to show just how much 700-800whp is.  It gets thrown around these days like its nothing because so many people have done it and the combos are easy to build. Thats a lot of fucking power.

Food for thought while determining goals.

Edit he upgraded to a billet wheel. PT76GTS and went bottom 9's with the 6 speed.

Old school for sure haha... Still gives me goosebumps though ;)

Its the only auto with OD that will hold the power.

Some of that money is for a sfi cert bellhousing and flexplate, torque tube and mount upgrades. You can do it yourself for around $7k. If you recoup $3k from your manual setup it isn't really that bad.

I will only have about $2k into my 4l80e swap because I have a Tick built T56 with 500mi on it to sell. I'm going with a stage 4 forward full manual valve body from jakes with his D1 transbrake so I wont need a controller. Figure $4k with a converter.
