Not sure if you remember my monte carlo, but i decided to toss about 10k in parts at it, a roll cage, a 496ci bigblock and some other goodies, getting ready to paint the old turd and go racin, prolly around 600rwhp from my math
Just curious and please don't hit me
But why did you place your proportioning valve there?
I do remember your Monte. Love that you still have it, and are still working on it. And yeah, like FMX said, it's for fine tuning the braking system under racing conditions. I'll need to be able to control bias because I am putting enormous Wilwoods on the car. Stock (setup for rear drums) was NOT going to cut it.

Still my favorite thread in this subforum.
Thanks mate! Hopefully I won't disappoint

pfft only cause we don't have a thread called "which male race car driver would you blow?"
:)
I checked my fluid reservoirs......
Fluid! Fluid where I want it! Not on the floor, or my paint, or the paper towels!

Well in the most downstream one, the red side.. Nothing out on the blue side....Yet.... Path of least resistance, and all that....

But that means there was/is fluid in the rear portion of the line....And I have yet to see, or feel, any leaks.
I've filled the master cylinder for a second time. If I go through two refills and no drips, I'll be feeling fairly confident.
Fluid systems and I seem to have a long history of not working well together (refer back to my thermostat housing woes).
If this latest fix is a success, I can now continue prepping the car for the engine reinstall.
Fluid BETTER stay on the inside this time....
Next step: Clean and restore OEM emergency brake cable. One of the last remaining untouched portions of the car.

Not for long...
