And it shouldn't. Proper vtec engagement should essentially be a non-noticeable transition. The whole "kick" at 6200 rpm is just a gimmick for the ricers. Mine engages at 4500 rpm with a flashpro tune so I have some decent midrange all the way up to 6k or so, which I never even get to because I shift at like 2500.....it's a civic, commuter car, albeit nice for spirited driving in the twisties, it handles surprisingly well, but it will never be fast and it isn't something to put money into. Dat NSX doe...

My buddy does the same thing on his S2000, sets VTEC engagement really low at minimum load for more mid range. And just because something isn't powerful doesn't mean it's not fun, the project itself and some of the people you meet along the way is what it's all about.

I agree with the whole experience and seeing a finished product idea. Ive never done anythig close to this size of a project/investmet but i completly understand. Its more than just a car. Its built , not bought. And you know her inside and out

Lol, I'm not getting involved with the Honda crowd in my area...CT has a much better euro scene if you're into the car thing. All of the Hondas though....all rusted out shitboxes or boyracers with k-swapped hatches. No thanks.

Agreed. The Euro scene is HARD in CT. Especially with Bag Riders around.

and a k swap is something to snub your nose at? It's basically the best 4cyl swap available for a civic.

It is when they're done shitty in beat ass CRZs and shit....Seriously guy, I own a Honda, I think it's an okay car, and maybe if the community wasn't such a bunch of dumb little cunts I'd join their cruise nights and meets. But all the Honda meetings end up in bitching and 1 tire fires...no thanks. I respect any car done right, but there aren't many of them in CT.

Its not just CT. That is the norm. A chill import scene is an anomaly.

Most Japanese imports tend to be easily accessible by younger individuals which stems most of the BS associated. The higher the base price gets, the more you start to move away from that crowd. It's really the opposite end of the spectrum with the nsx community, it's like being on a forum with your parents commenting, ppl are polite and knowledgable but no real spark or sense of humor. Still better than what you would see on hondatech. Anything around the mid 20k price range should be enough to fend off the kids, but anything over 40k and you might start running into fuddy duttys
