no i don't mean fully built...i mean stock engines...wtf.
compared to what? sorry GM produces them on a low tune system that still puts out 300 + hp for the ls1?
please tell me a motor that will out do the ls1 in these categories:
price range
mod 4 mod hp ratio
n/a max power
weight
the only german v8 i can image being close would be the 4.0L m3. but with that price tag you can buy a z06 with a 500 hp ls7 that will run a high 11 to low 12 from the factory. but the bmw will cap its hp a lot sooner than an ls1.

alright
alls i asked was why does everybody put LS1 engines into random chassis??
shit i even ranted on some kid + akuuz because they wanted to put an ls1 into a porsche 944(what the fuck?), not only is it disrespectful to the brand, but it totally ruins the heritage of the vehicle you're driving. i mean come on, anybody can make a v8, you compare the ratio of displacement to horsepower and i'm sorry but ANYTHING from germany or even japan will rock americas shit. you gotta give me a little credit here.
i believe in a car's history and heritage, i believe in keeping the cars sanctity. i believe that sticking some piece of shit huge displacement cheap-to-make; cheap-to-build v8 in a sports car's chassis is sin. keep a vehicle the way it is, it deserves it, i respect my cars, that's why they last forever.
it's about respect with me, get it?
we already know you like heritage in vechiles Ethan, you've explained this a million times. but when it comes down to it, some people care more about performance than keeping the stock engine thats in it. if you really understood how easy the ls series engines can make power you would get it. its not the fact its a "v8 big displacement motor", its the fact it works. dont you wish you could push 600 whp n/a on pump gas in your "afro" that you have? or would you like to settle for 450 hp on high octane and forced induction, which would be slower along with a higher price tag?
the fact is, GM mass produces their ls series crate motors. they are inexpensive, aftermarket parts are litterally everywhere, and the engine just works perfectly. people dont buy a corvette, gto, camaro, ect to soley take out the motor/tranny/harness/ect. most people who obtain a ls series vechile leaves it in there and builds it. the chassis is strong enough.
