so I haven't done shit, musics in the truck tho so its atleast back together, I also brought matt my fenders so he could start doing the body work on them, going to paint old crusty sooner then later, matts talking about buying a tig welder... got me a little excited

been to busy to work on stuff, matts got the wagon back up for sale so he can concentrate on finishing the cutlass, we need a motor/trans/rear for the cutlass and the car needs to be completely wired, its literally just a roller I stripped the wiring the guy had in there to do a painless kit

BUT... we're getting into the slow season at the shop so that means we're probably going to be making progress on some things

ordered moroso trick springs for her, going to see what we end up in the rear and match the front to preform ( i hope it doesn't look like a truck again )

new griffon radiator, got the new fenders to the shop, going to go buy primer and paint this week and hopefully we're going to paint the car soon

Just got a notification on fb, apparently its been 2 years since i took the car apart and build the new 496, kinda feel like ive gone wrong somewhere... its been 2+ years since i have actually been able to use this car LOL

hopefully we can button up everything, paint it and get some shake downs in b4 it starts to cool down, i want to run snowbirds with it this year, or at least show up and go out first round, id be satisfied with that honestly, i just wanna race this turd already

last weekend i pulled the motor out of the car, theres a problem in the cylinder heads, i think it has a loose guide and a tight guide (two distinctively different sounds on different valves)

So the motors out of the car intakes off, pulling the heads this next weekend to get them over to the machine shop, drop the pan and check things out... wish me luck fellas


Paint is obviously on hold for the time being

ok!

We're 1 week into it paint, i decided to bite the bullet and paint the car... a little motivation i guess

my car is completely apart, fenders doors, truck bumpers ect, front half of the car is almost ready for paint, same with matts truck (doors are still on the truck unfortunately)

So we're a little behind and decided to mainly focus on my car for the time being, and we will send mine off to be sprayed by a buddy of mine, while we make up time on his truck


ill probably do like a photobucket album once i get some free time and the cars all done.

thinking the motor problem is a lifter issue but haven't had time to address it.. i added some spring pressure to the heads for confidence and went through everything.. no problems in the heads.

been working too much to make progress with pictures, even tho no1 probably cares lol

Cars about 1/2 way assembled again, motors still out piston was hitting the head, checked bearings and nothing is hurt so were gonna put it back together with different cam lifters and rocker arms and cross our fingers (changing cam cause it needs lifters and the cams not very well suited for the build) i thought i was going to have to spray it and its alot lighter then it was going to be when i started so its faster then it needs to be as is

car still needs to be wet sanded and buffed before i can do door handles trunk ect ect final assembly, so its month or two from being back together and racing... so little time so few moneys



tldr; cars slowly going back together, getting new cam and rockers and putting the motor back together
