We're getting 2 ft tomorrow :(
Yea... I have no student debt or credit card debt either. Holy crap 140k house, I wish I lived in your area :/
With 6 figures and only 1 car, your wife must spend a boat load for you to have to be so careful. I guess I'm unlucky with my area having such a high cost of living, but lucky in the gf aspect in that she almost spends nothing per month. Maybe, I'll reconsider and get a 2016 2LT or 2015 3LT instead of a brand new fully loaded 3LT. I have until May to decide anyway. All I know is that I can't get a c6 for the life of me, I just don't like the way it looks haha. (Wasn't a fan of corvettes until this model came out)
I have 4 vehicles plus the wife's. She has about $35k in student loans. Her car will be paid off next month. I owe $35k combined on my truck and corvette. The other two are paid for. My take home pay is around $1200/wk. $900 mortgage, $1050 in auto payments, $500 in misc bills, $250 on the land I own, $2k/yr in property taxes etc. I end up with about $2k a month in expendable income. That's a comfortable spot for me. I still can't do anything I want on a whim. I probably spend $400/mo on home and yard maintenance. Another $200/mo on auto maintenance. Another $200/mo on misc bullshit for the house and shop.
Take your monthly bills on paper and multiply by 1.5. Subtract that from income. Subtract variable costs. That's a more realistic number for what will be left every month.
