C&D ran a 3:00.50 in the shelby and a 3:01.50 in the 1LE. This guy went a few seconds quicker but its still close enough to show faith in the C&D results.  The same guy did a 2:52 in the ZL1 and Mero did a 2:45 in the ZR1.

I doubt they are holding back much on the higher tier Camaro just because they sell vettes. If they sell a $80k Camaro instead of the base Vette they arent exactly loosing.

You need to take your own advice and reread my post. I didn't say YOU said the ZL1 is built for drag racing. I'm saying it isn't. Therefore the owner of that car was a tool and got what he deserved. He could have bought an SS and put $8k into a procharger and gotten a better result for $40k less. That $40k buys you a road course/pro touring car.

Again, take your own advice and read the bottom half of my post. I gave Ford credit for building an engine that equals the LS3 with less displacement. My very last sentence that you quoted says Respect BOTH platforms for what they are. That implies that I respect both myself doesn't it?

They obviously are. The 80k zl1 blows the base c6 out of the water, but its still a camaro. Corvette owners are repeat buyers. The Z06 is right there with the ZL1 price wise. Shocker, they used the lsa instead of the LS9. That keeps it from beating the Z06 in a straight line and keeps it honest on a road course. The 2013 GT500 has Ford's most powerful engine. The ZL1 has one developed for a 4 door cadillac. They could change the blower pulley on the LS9 and drop a 750hp engine in the ZL1 if they wanted to. There are many reason why they won't.

Cool. There is one with wiring harness for $400 in my local classifieds. I wish I could join you with the car progress. I wrote a check last week that would have finished my car minus paint. Unfortunately it was a DP on land instead of parts. Lmk if you need some help with anything.
