I hope that never happens, but if it does. Sure. :)

Hah! This is the last one of the night. I promise. <3

Tonight: Milestone achieved! Bumper back on, without gaping holes under it!

And here's as far as I got on the driver's dogleg. Real rough, I got tired....I still have a bunch more metal work to do, but that'll happen tomorrow sometime. (apologies for awful photo, the driver's side is pretty close to my garage wall. No light, and no space.)

Til tomorrow.

Well I didn't make it out to the garage yesterday as planned. But I am out working today.

Here's the progress so far, from where I left off.

New lip.

Also, I got a new phone, which has a 10 megapixel camera instead of the 8 my old Droid was able to capture. So better quality photos!

I know...I spoil you guys... :P

Time to sand.

More to come.

Roughed out in primer. Lots more tweaking left to do, but for the moment this will work.

Tonight is my last night in New York for a couple weeks. This is where I left off.

I got a lot done in the small amount of time I have been home. I am now beginning to feel the majority of the HARD work is behind me. Very satisfied.

Happy New Year all!

Not to be off topic here bro but what the fuck is going on with the other Z? That shit was so close to running and I want to see and hear it running like terrible. If I was edging I'd be on the verge of passing out by how close it is....What's the deal?

Haha, yeah you and me both.

I've had terrible luck tapping the brittle OEM Datsun thermostat housings to accept my GM sensors. I also had some RFI/EMI (noise) interference upon cranking the motor, which I believe I have solved. (due to a grounding issue at the distributor)

So currently, when I return to Rhode Island, I am going to bring my LAST extra thermostat housing, and attempt for the 4th time to successfully tap the holes for 3/8 npt. If that happens, and it holds fluid, I then once again get to....

1.) turn motor to top dead center #1 compression stroke

2.) reinstall distributor

3.) test/monitor RPM signal while cranking in Tunerstudio - if this checks out go to #4

4.) hook up coil wire

5.) turn key

6.) Vroom?

This car is like my boyhood dream car. No one on planet earth wants to start the thing more than I do. I cannot wait for the day it fires.

Tap that shit like a 1/2 size up at a time, go through like 50 bits before you get there....There's absolutely no other way? I'm sure you definitely know your shit, and you've done your research. Has anyone done it differently on the Z forums? Or do they all gamble until they win. I fucking love Z cars man. I don't have the time, money, or skill to own one myself currently, due to me being in the NorthEast...the thing would go to shit if it already hasn't, and I don't have the money to pay for storage currently. Sad to say but ever since watching Wangan Midnight I want a fucking 240Z bad. I know, I know, animu. But it's a cool watch and pretty in-depth car-wise. All highway racing, no ridiculous impossible Initial D dorifuto although I do love myself some Initial D.

Yep, I'm going to take some serious time on this one. I COULD run the sensor somewhere else, or use a different sensor, but this is the cleanest route/setup I concocted. I have a couple of back up plans though. Also I'm STILL waiting on my damn backordered wheels (ordered July 31), and I figure once those arrive, that'll light a serious fire under my ass getting the car on the floor, and on the road.

The Z cars are definitely cool, and they only appear to be getting more and more popular. I haven't watched any wangan or initial D, but I've seen the clips of my car racing that Porsche (blackbird I think?)

Pretty neat stuff.
