a 5.3 out of the junk yard and a 80mm turbo will put a rod through the side of the block
you obviously have never built a high horse race motor, stock blocks need to be filled and internals need to be forged heads need to be ported and cams need to be changed aswell as injectors and fuel rails and the computer would also need to be tuned.
its not just as simple as put a turbo on and go...
I mean you COULD turbo a stock motor but ur not gonna be able to run high boost and it would also probably choke out at high rpms due to fuel starvation and if u know cars, turbo motors don't like to be lean

This pretty much sums it up.
http://www.hotrod.com/techarticles/hrdp_1109_stock_gm_ls_engine_big_bang_theory/You won't tell me anything I dont know about an LS motor. I promise. Typically I hate citing a magazine article but that saved me a lot of time. I think the stock bottom end record is in the 8.50's @168 or somewhere close. That motor has lasted 2 seasons as well. Are they bulletproof? No. But for $500 intake to oil pan they can't be beat.
obviously you will need other parts besides the engine and turbo... thats fucking common sense...
