In my Taurus - 85 mph then gov kicks in LOL. I might take mine out soon (i know its illegal) but a v6 3.8L shouldnt be maxing out at that..
In my brothers eclipse - Whenever the gov kicks also.. Spedo goes to 140 so idk max.
Work Car - 115ish with 4 co-workers.. haha was pretty funny 3 wanted me to max it out and 1 chick was freaking out so I didnt max the car out.

i drive an audi A4, same motor as the vr6. no cavalier, and no it doesnt do 155mph. it does 136, VW and audi cuts off the fuel supply at that speed.
